Botswana – Introducing the concept of Public Service Broadcasting

SR MDO was engaged by the Government of Botswana to assist in the plans for transforming the State-run national broadcaster DVB to a Public Service Broadcaster meeting international standards. A three-year program was designed and was financed equally by the Government of Botswana and the Swedish Aid Authority, Sida.

The collaboration ran from 2005 to 2008 involving a large amount of hands-on training in a wide spectrum, ranging from technical issues, management, editorial routines, live outside broadcasts, to educational programming and News and Current Affairs programming in both radio and television.
